FOOT IMPRINT

A sea-shore,
Damp saltiness in the air,
Pebbles,shells,weeds,crabs...
Sand-houses...built up only to be broken down.
The forceful waves,
The eternal ocean,
A mighty force...

Capable of sinking into insignificance the mightiest Ego.

In some derelict unabandoned spot on the shore,
There lies his foot imprint,
Untouched by the mighty force.
Preserved
Protected
Still intact.

The ferocious waves in their arrogant abundance,
The smooth waves in their gleeful simplicity,
Hoped to wipe it clean.
Wipe it away into non-existence.
But it remained untouchable.
Eluding them by just a hair's breadth sometimes,
Yet always unreachable.

Embedded firmly in the sand,
Lies His foot imprint....
A small win against a mighty force...
A win nevertheless!

dear nisha,
we build up so many castles in the air..but it takes only a moment all that to perish...the foot imprint is faith in the almighty...nothing can perish it...if we have a guiding force in our lives it just takes care of any eventualities..it seems the poetess is sending a warning signal to people with egos...

Nishaa,
Your poem provides the keys to Pradise.
Life is full of crises, breakdowns, hallucinations and visions,
The air is full of waverings and prophecies of the debacle to come,
The moral crisis of the nineteeenth century has gone only to be replaced by the spritual bankruptcy of the twentieth,
The romantic agony of man is summed up here,
A curse laid on us,that needs to be obliterated,
The poetess pronounces the benediction for all of us,
The foot imprint is a symbol of revival for the modern man.
Life is like a river,it flows ceaselessly,
You flow on and through, endlessly like music,
Develop the gift of surrender, essence of spirituality,
It is for us to make it real and be emancipated beings.

dear nisha,
Foot-imprint is a poem that discourses on the expansion and deepening of truth. The reader gets an awareness of the underlying world and the cosmic attitude of the author. The poem enables the reader to open the door which lesds to the soul.An inward journey to the inner core of one's being.combatting the ''system'' is bunkum. There is only one aim in life and that is to live it.wherever there are individuals there are new frontiers(Thoreau) modern life has become illusory,we lead the lives of prisoners, while we boast about many things as our possessions.establish peace and understanding in your own hearts and in your own minds.''we create our fate''says Henry miller.let us have a new heaven and a new earth in the sense Rimbaud envisaged.Change your life that is the message. The restorative value of spiritual life is reasserted here. The poem is sustained on its own axis by the pure flux and reorientation of thoughts.it goes to the roots of our existense and digs for subterranean springs.

Intentional or unintentional ferocity cannot delete the perfect memory. I enjoyed this one.

nisha, excellent work, enjoyed..it took me to yesteryears of solitude.. my first thinking goes out of spirituality to solitude over a romantic perspective. did u ever read the lines of balachandranji "ennumen paanapaathram nirakkatte, ninn assannidhyam pakarunna vedana". a positive assertive, but strong bondage in solitude. satheesh

Dear Nisha,
Simple words weaved to form excellent imagery. Despite the might of the ocean and waves the footprint, survives obliteration. What is your take on the 'footprint'. or are we supposed to draw our own conclusions. Enjoyed it.
